At GiveUpPain, we believe healing should feel like coming home to yourself — gentle, unhurried, and freeing. Our practice is built around tRt, the Tapping and Release Technique: a soft conversation between your hands and your heart, releasing what weighs you down and welcoming what lifts you up.
For twenty years, GiveUpPain has been helping people release stress, anxiety, old patterns, and heavy feelings. Every session is unhurried. Every person is met exactly where they are.
Our signature offering is the Reading & Release: part intuitive reading, part gentle release, booked in one tap. In the reading, Kaw connects into your energy, soul and body — and relates back to you, as clearly as possible, the actual communication your body, soul and spirit are trying to communicate. Then we tap together, releasing it through the body itself. People often tell us they arrive carrying the weight of the world and leave feeling lighter than they have in years.
We also love gathering people together. From our daily channeled messages to our presence at fairs across Ontario, we believe healing happens best in community — and there is no community quite like the one that gathers under the Holistic Healing Fair’s roof. For ten years, this fair has been our happy place: the blue butterfly on our banner has a way of drawing the right people to our table, exactly when they need us.
Whether you come to us in person, online, or through our books and daily messages, you’ll find the same thing: two guides who will sit with you, listen deeply, and walk beside you as you give up what’s been hurting — and pick up what’s been waiting.
The founding practitioners are Kaw and Danny Brooks. Guides of the GiveUpPain practice, tRt practitioners for ten years together, authors, and devoted fair family.
What is your favorite item/service offered?
Our Reading & Release session — an unhurried one-to-one sitting, part intuitive reading and part gentle tapping release. It’s the heart of everything we do.
Do you have any exciting plans for the future that you want customers to know about?
So many beautiful things are unfolding. Danny’s new book, At the End of Fear, is coming soon to Amazon. Our children’s book THE FLY is on its way, we’re bringing the Polish edition of DRIVERS SEAT to readers this December, and a nine-week online course opens in January for anyone ready to walk a gentler path with their body.
What’s the most memorable experience you’ve had working with a customer?
There have been so many quiet miracles — the moment someone’s shoulders drop for the first time in years, the tears that turn into laughter mid-session, the message weeks later saying, “I feel like myself again.” We carry every one of them with us.
What do you love most about what you do?
Witnessing the exact moment someone realizes they don’t have to carry it anymore. That breath, that softening — it’s the most beautiful thing in the world to us.
What was your inspiration to start your business?
Our own healing. We know what it feels like to carry heavy things, and we know what it feels like to finally set them down. GiveUpPain exists so no one has to figure that out alone.
Do you have a home studio or do you work at another location?
We see people online from anywhere in the world, and in person at our home or yours — plus you’ll always find us at Holistic Healing Fair events across Ontario. Look for the blue butterfly.
What is your mission?
To help people release what hurts and remember who they are — gently, together, with love.
What is your vision?
One open door: a world where no one heals alone, and where a simple tap on the body reminds every heart that it is safe, it is good, and wonderful things are happening.
