We forget that we are ALL empathic creations of the same source. We are all connected and we can feel each other.
So, that being said…How much of what I am feeling is really mine.
The answer is, All of it!
What you are feeling is yours, the emotions. What you are sensating is the field around you. Think of it like that scene from the movie Star Wars, remember, when the Death Star was used to destroy Alderaan and Obi-wan felt the force field.
This is you at all moments of the day.
We feel things happening in the field around us but because we do not practice the art of ‘the force’, we instead, feel the sensations and then attach our thoughts to it. The thoughts we attach are the ones our brain recalls from its memory and from its fears and anxieties, from your past history of adverse events.
Now your body and mind respond with an emotion and you feel there is something wrong with you, when the whole time you were merely interpreting a sensation through your filters and triggers.
The next question then needs to be asked, how do I respond to these sensations and feelings?
As an example, from my own experience, when I woke up one morning I felt a wave go through my body, it felt familiar, like tension in my chest, my stomach felt like it was tightening up, what I would normally interpret as ‘Worry’. However, instead of allowing my mind to begin to worry about the thousand different things there are to worry about, I instead just allowed myself to experience the sensation without attaching my thoughts to it. The sensation passed within a few moments and I was astonished. “Where did that come from?” I thought, and then I felt another wave of the same sensations come through me. Once again I attached no thought to it and just allowed myself to feel the sensations without attaching my story to it and it too passed. I don’t know where the sensation waves were coming from, but my body was picking up on them.
Perhaps, this was the level of my training that I needed to experience so I could stop the loop of my own thoughts around worry. Since that time I have been practising the art of allowing myself to feel without my own judgment of my thoughts and I have discovered that many of the things we feel are not ours.
Many of the things you feel are interpretations based on the Adverse Experiences you have had throughout your life, which were given to you by others so long ago you don’t even remember where they came from…but…Your Body Does!
Your body is the sensory device by which you feel and interpret the field around you, your connectivity to all things of this realm. Your interpretation of those sensations will be your experience.
