August is an interesting month. We start with Mercury retrograde (July 17 th ) in the sign of Leo. This retrograde is about inner reflection and gaining understanding of the self at a heart level. We are gaining insight into our ego vs our spirit. It is important to do inner work as it will tie into our thought process and how we must raise our consciousness to align with our heart. Inner thinking takes place this month where everyone will be looking at how to break negative self-talk or thoughts. It is time to rewrite your story! Mercury will be stationing direct on August 11 th . Then we move forward on the path that Mercury travelled retrograde, completing his post shadow on August 25 th . On August 25 th , Venus (love, beauty, and value) moves into the sign of Leo (the same sign as Mercury Retrograde). Venus in Leo speaks to heart centered relationships and valued appearances. Our relationships are but a mirror reflecting the relationship we have with ourselves. If you have done the necessary inner work, aligning with your heart chakra and releasing ego-based desires, you will come to many realizations about your relationships. Between Aug 25 and Aug 27 Venus will trine Saturn (projecting an image of preserving stability and loyalty), Venus sextile Uranus (sharing excitement and unique expressions of affection), Venus trine Neptune (sensitivity and fantasy) and the test, Venus opposite Pluto (jealousy, territorial disputes and obsession). The inner heart centered work you have done during the Mercury retrograde is put to the test and it will mirror within your relationships. Is it real or a fantasy?

Mars interacts with the outer plantes from August 6 th to August 10 th (the day before Mercury stations direct). Mars moves into Libra (who’s planetary ruler is Venus). With Mars in Libra there is a powerful desire for justice. Mars can try to be the peacemaker while in this sign, but he is a warrior! As Mars interacts with the outer planets change will transpire. Mars trine Uranus (a desire to make things happen to the point of forcing change, Uranus is unexpected energy, so if you force anything, it may not go according to your plan). Mars opposition Saturn (force creates problems via the ego and you should be focusing on solutions). Mars trine Pluto (focus on purification but be careful not to operate from a place of power, this is misuse of power). On August 9, the Full Moon in Aquarius is going to illuminate your secret motives, so let those motives be LOVE.
One must be careful with Mar’s energy because if you are working from a place of ego (during the Mercury Retrograde) you will learn intense lessons. Which will affect your relationships (Libra, natural ruler Venus).
So how can you best use the energy this month? Through awareness, consciously align with your heart centre. Do the necessary work of recognizing desire and if that desire is driven by ego, make the necessary changes in how you respond. Do not seek justice, seek peace. BE love! Focus on your creative potential and spiritual activities and embrace the opportunities that may come to you with Uranus sextile Neptune on August 28 th.
